That early morning waking up that too, to exercise can be a struggle for many. All of us have been there done that, where we want to sleep a few more minutes or hit that snooze button a million times. The grapple between our comfortable sheets and the need to get out of bed can to real. But that morning workout is equally important. Thus, a few tips to actually sticking to a schedule of the regular morning workout.
Adding your morning workout to your schedule helps. As much as you’ll find it silly preparing a night before. Fix a time and put an alarm on it. Prep yourself with your favorite workout gear and list down the next days training exercises you would want to do. Your brain will conceive for the next day session, acting as an alarm once this comes into a habit.
Gather a friend/ partner
Remember that friend who is always working out, the fitness enthusiast? He/She can be the most helpful alarm. Ask them if you could join in for the morning sessions. Not only are they motivating you and crediting you for every morning workout done, they will also be helping you wake up and not miss a single workout. Get your blood pumping by joining the same yoga classes or fitness classes or even go to the nearby park for that morning workout. It is always fun when you workout with a friend or two.
The morning can be made easier if your breakfast is already prepared and ready to eat. Get all the fruits whichever you like, whether that is your banana, apple or berries. Make a delicious banana smoothie on the go or slice up some apples and dip them in your beloved peanut butter. A healthy and quick breakfast already prepared will not only satisfy your growling stomach in those early hours but will be totally healthy and save you time.
Stay away from that phone glare
First things first are to sleep early and the trick to get a better good night’s rest is to stop yourself from checking that email or that urge for one last scroll through Instagram. No, that phone glare does not help the eye and surely not your morning workout. After setting the alarm to make sure you have kept your phone at a distance to get a proper 7-8 hour rest. Try not to make anything disrupt your sleep pattern. Enough sleep is the key to waking up early and feeling fresh at those wee hours in the morning.
Set two alarms
All professional trainers or exercise enthusiasts, they set two alarms. Health experts believe there is no ideal time to workout but working out early in the morning means having a set schedule for the day and sleeping timely at night. Put an alarm 15 minutes before your actual waking up time and then another 10 minutes later. When the first alarm rings your brain knows you have ten more minutes of sleep and when the second one goes off you know it is time to wake up. Therefore, this helps ease your body into waking up gradually.
Have an amazing playlist
When you finally get out of bed it is important to start the day positively. What better than music? While getting dressed or preparing breakfast hit that playlist. You will get energized by the music and bring positivity into the day. It can be the playlists of your favourite songs you can dance to or calm yourself to, whatever is the need to begin and have a wonderful day ahead. It will relieve you of any pending stress and it also makes your brain more problem solving as you take your entire day in stride.
Your choice of work out
For a lot of people, a workout is the time of the day where they are either bursting out that stress, getting those abs or getting the much-required energy boost. It differs and so does the pattern of the workout. You can choose your ideal combination, keep it a mix of what you like and what you need. For a lot of people, they need that 40 mins of early morning yoga, for others maybe to sweat it out in the gym. Choose your workout accordingly, since it actually makes you want to do it.
Getting addicted to morning workouts
Nobody can force you to workout until you actually want to. The euphoria of feeling and looking great has to be experienced. What keeps all fitness enthusiasts working? The after effect of exercising. It keeps you motivated, it keeps you energized and keeps you wanting more of that adrenaline pumping. Thus, making it addicting for your body to never give it up.
