But you don’t have to order food delivery every night just to save time. Instead, these quick weeknight dinner ideas will help you save time and stress less in the kitchen.

1.Plan out Meals
Creating a meal plan at the beginning of each month/week means you have one less thing to worry about every night. Planning out your meal in advance is a huge time saver! Feel free to swap meal ideas based on your family diet needs and food preferences! You can still be flexible to choose something simple that doesn’t require a recipe or something more complex on a day you have extra time.
2.Store ingredients for easy Grab-and Cook
Now that you have your meal plan for the week, take out some time and put all the ingredients you’ll need to cook in two separate baskets – one for dry ingredients and other for cold/ liquid ingredients. Later on, you’ll just have to grab the basket when you get home after work and start cooking.
3. Always have a few easy “GO TO” meals
You should always have the ingredients for a few simple meals in your freezer/pantry and add these items to the grocery list whether they are on your meal plan or not.
4.Create dinner short-cuts with healthy prepackaged foods
Everyone try to feed their family as healthy and pure as possible. But there are a handful of ready-to-go items to create shortcuts while preparing food. Usually whatever you don’t like to prepare is what you end up purchasing. These pre-packaged foods give you extra time to get ready for the busy week.
5.Pre-cut your veggies
Pre-chop the veggies you’re going to use for the first few night meals, and store it in the fridge, ready to toss in the pan when you get back home from work. Usually, keep things simple and use a lot of the same veggies in different meals – like carrot, capsicum, mushroom, onion, potato, and garlic, it’s all just about everything you cook, so you know these will get used if you pre-cut them and make your work easy.

6.Organize your kitchen and pantry
Your pantry is the exception to the rule. You got to have everything labelled, everything has a place, and you know exactly what you have in there. Knowing what you’ve got and where it is can save you valuable time when you are tired to make a meal in a mad evening rush.

7.Cook pasta in the microwave
Sometimes making pasta on the stove can take a lot of time and can create a lot of extra dishes. Instead, place the pasta in a blow of water and microwave for 10 minutes. This way it cooks faster and saves a lot of time where meanwhile you can cook the sauce for the pasta and toss is over once done.
8.Cook extra ingredients for two meals
Try cooking extra vegetables, rice, or pasta that will stretch for two meals. Using this tip, you already have cooked ingredients for another meal later for the week, store it in a freezer and toss on a pan when making a new meal, which can be a real time saver.
9.Boil water in an electric kettle
Boiling water can take upward of 10 minutes, but only a minute or so in an electric kettle. This can save a lot of time when you’re in a hurry or tried to cook.
10.Freeze herbs in ice cube tray
Fresh herbs add serious flavor to meals without adding calories, but sometimes they spoil before you’re able to use them. Take out some time from your daily routine and combine olive oil with some herbs in an ice cube tray and freeze them. Pop out whenever you need herbs and spices for a meal. You’ll not only save time but save money by not throwing away herbs you couldn’t use.
